Senior Tourism Professional – Madrid

SUMMARY

Driving high spending national, European and non-European tourism footfall to our pan-European client’s Spanish  Centre  – maximising exposure, participation and business leverage within the Travel Industry.  A senior management role this includes:

  • Strategy Development & Management – defining and implementing the Tourism Strategy for the Centre.
  • Partnership Marketing & Relationship Building – across the Travel Trade incl. inbound tour operators.
  • European Travel Trade Press – incl. working with PR agencies to develop content for Trade Press Releases.
  • Trade Shows / Sales Missions & Trade Tools – incl. developing tools and managing relevant areas of website.
  • Analysis  - incl. establishing partnership ROI and maximing use of B2B database.
  • Consumer Driven Marketing – working closely with the marketing teams.
  • Additional responsibilies  - incl. developing partnerships with local groups and Chambers of Commerce etc.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum 8 years proven Travel Industry knowledge, demonstrating:

  • Excellent knowledge of regional, national and international tourism activities and resorts.
  • Experience of working in the international professional tourism environment and of high class tourism markets.
  • Experience in targeting inbound and outbound tour operators, with established networks.
  • Connections with key official industry bodies and travel associations.
  • Broad European experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and a highly organised, team player.
  • Commercially driven with a sound knowledge of marketing and advertising.
  • Fully computer literate – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet.
  • Good communication skills, able to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation skills with presence and a broad, cosmopolitan mindset.
  • Willingness to travel abroad as required.
  • Fluent Spanish and English.
