Account Manager - Global IP Network Sales – Madrid

The Client

Our client, an established Managed Services Provider, offers a wide range of customized enterprise solutions with particular expertise in private networks, global Tier 1 Internet backbone and related ICT solutions to enterprises worldwide. The Company is actively expanding into the EMEA market, deploying an aggressive growth plan in the IP transit business area as part of its European business strategy.

The Role

In direct support to the Sales Manager, and working closely with other virtual/non virtual team members where necessary, the Job-holder will drive sales of GIN Services, identifying and gaining new business opportunities within the region, and providing feedback information on pricing and market trends. The role will centre on: 

  • Identifying and targeting new strategic sales opportunities (ISP’s, Carriers, Content Providers and service providers)
  • Establishing long-term business relationships with new customers
  • Managing new sales opportunities from initial contact through to signing of contract
  • Producing up-to-date information on IP transit business and related technology and keeping accurate sales records

The Job-holder will:

  • Identify,, research and target prospective clients with an expected spend in line with the Company’s sales policies.
  • Qualify leads appropriately and convert into closed business, working closely with members of the GIN Presales team.
  • Account Manage any allocated accounts with the support of the Presales Team.
  • Create and maintain an accurate sales pipeline of opportunities within the existing database.
  • Build decision-maker level relationships to determine prospects’ needs in relation to the Company’s product portfolio.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and reports on activity and sales performance on an on-going basis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information within the Sales Database system.

The Candidate Profile

The role requires a self-starter with proven sales skills – negotiation, listening, business / commercial acumen and presentation experience. He/she should be tenacious and results driven, requiring minimal supervision and with a clear ability to take responsibility for a range of tasks. He/she must also be comfortable working within a team focussed on meeting set objectives.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Experience of selling IP Transit solutions
  • Proven track record of revenue generation against a six figure annual target
  • Experience of consultative sales
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, in written, verbal and presentation form
  • Ability to liaise successfully with other departments across the business
  • Ability to develop and manage a consistent sales pipeline
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Can do, flexible and mature attitude to the role with plenty of common sense and an outgoing personality
  • Strong team player
  • Use of MS Office applications, PowerPoint and email.
