Internet Project Manager – Barcelona

The Client

Our client is a fast-growing and profitable international online media group with a total portfolio comprising operations in mature markets in Western Europe and in growing markets such as Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The international workforce of around 1400 employees combines to facilitate synergies, competence-building and competence-sharing across markets and national boundaries, supporting a strong and highly-successful corporate growth strategy.

The Role

A vacancy has arisen within the Company’s Southern European Hub, based in Barcelona, for an experienced Internet Project Manager who, reporting to the COO, will

• Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
• Identify resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
• Manage project budget and resource allocation
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and constantly monitor and report on progress to all stakeholders
• Review deliverables prepared by local team before passing to senior management
• Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
• Ensure that best practices are being exposed to the BU management and core websites’ decision makers.

Specific tasks will include

• Daily management of one/more projects
• Performance evaluations and mentoring of those with less experience through formal channels
• Identification of areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
• Effective and persuasive presentations (verbal and written) for local teams and business leaders
• Supervision of team members (motivation, quality of work, development)
• Periodic Business Plan of the Hub and support the preparation of Business Development Plan of local teams.

The Candidate

The role calls for

• Bachelor Degree/Master in Business Administration/Management or equivalent (MBA preferred)
• Native speaker in Spanish; fluency in English
• At least 3 years’ experience in Project Management (relevant exposure to internet industry preferred)
• Demonstrated Project Management skills (experience in multitasking appreciated)
• Ability to drive teams and handle conflicts constructively.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with business planning and forecasting
• Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness
• Confidence presenting to large groups of people
• Proficiency with Office package, in particular Excel and Powerpoint
• Availability to travel.
