Senior Systems Administrator – Barcelona

Our client is a well-funded, Barcelona-based start-up that provides an innovative, web-based analytical tool in the field of hotel reputation management. 

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Systems Administrator, with a minimum of five years’ experience and strong analytic skills, to join the Engineering team.

The Responsibilities of this position are

• Linux / UNIX Systems Administration
• Network Administration
• Database Administration
• Backup Politics Management and contingency plan for the company
• Collaboration with the Development Team to design new solutions and incident management

Required Skills

• Demonstrable experience in managing Linux systems
• Demonstrable experience in network administration
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl would be advantages)
• Basic knowledge of DB administration
• Ability to work in teams
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate in English

Desirable Skills

• Experience in applications server management
• Experience in EC2 and cloud computing
• Experience with java environments
• University degree in Computer Science
