Storage & Backup Architect – Barcelona

The Client

Our client, the Managed Services division of a big-name multinational telecommunications company, offers a wide range of customized enterprise solutions with particular expertise in private networks, global Tier 1 Internet backbone and related ICT solutions to enterprises worldwide.

A position has been created for an experienced Technical Architect within the Company’s Storage and Back-up team.

The Role

The Storage and Backup team manages the central storage and backup facilities in several datacenters across the world. The mission of this team is to deliver and end-to-end service to the company within these areas. The Architect within this team will:

• Participate in the product creation and maintenance processes

• Manage critical infrastructures which require high-level of expertise

• Design effective and efficient infrastructures which are sustainable and manageable in the long-term

• Work with the rest of the company to deploy business processes to manage those infrastructures

The Candidate

• 3 years+ experience on at least two major storage vendors (NetApp, EMC, HDS) and 3 years+ experience with Symantec NetBackup

• Experienced in backup and storage oriented networks (FC, FCoE, IP Based)

• Degree or master in Computer Sciences

• Structured mindset

• Desire to learn and improve

• Ability to use English as the working language.

• Good communication skills. Able to interact with the management layer.

• Strong foundations in Computing. General knowledge of network, systems and applications in datacenter environments. Scripting is a must.

• Focused on quality and efficiency through good processes and automation.
