Web Developer (PHP) – Madrid

The Client

Serving 12 countries in Europe and America and receiving well over a million unique website visits per month, our client has developed the first truly multinational internet-based wedding community. Their revolutionary website is now the number one online reference point for couples looking for a headache-free way to plan, organise and finance weddings and honeymoons. Amongst a host of other practical solutions, the Company’s flagship service helps brides and grooms to create their own personalised wedding websites to facilitate and coordinate gift contributions from guests.

In line with their exciting expansion plans and dedication to continual innovation, the Company is seeking a PHP Web Developer to join their young and growing team.

The Role

The Company is keen to meet candidates who are passionate about web technologies. The role calls for fast learners with lots of initiative, equally at home working autonomously or in small groups. Candidates will need to be adaptable to non-hierarchical environments, have a structured and responsible approach to their work and should be receptive to and motivated by new challenges. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop / debug / maintain web applications based mainly on PHP and MySql
  • Work in teams to deliver solutions as planned, contributing to and enhancing a great work environment

The Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in creating and developing web sites and applications
  • Solid experience in PHP5
  • Experience in PHP5 frameworks, ideally Zend
  • Experience in MySQL
  • Experience in the following technologies: XHTML, HTML5, XML, CSS, JS
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, ideally jQuery
  • Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment 

Other desirable skills and experience

  • High level of English
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Knowledge of OOP design patterns  
  • Basic knowledge of system architecture and cloud computing
